Lake Union Park
Seattle
citizens have envisioned the creation of a waterfront park at the
southern end of Lake Union ever since the Olmsted Park Plan was
approved 100 years ago. Over the past year, the Seattle Parks
Foundation, neighborhood representatives, and Seattle Parks and
Recreation worked with Hargreaves Associates to complete the final
design of South Lake Union Park. In 2003, the Parks Foundation
completed a feasibility study for the project. The project is ready to
move forward in 2004! The Parks Foundation is in the early stages of a
capital campaign to develop this unique and exciting destination park
for the city, the neighborhood, and the region!
Watch this site and the
Seattle Parks Foundation websites for
updates on this exciting project, or contact the Seattle Parks
Foundation to learn about ways you can become involved.
