South Lake Union Wharf
Ahoy
matees! Construction on the exciting new wharf project for South Lake
Union Park continues at a rapid clip, and is expected to be completed
on time in June.
SL Larsen Company, which began the project in January, will be
attaching the docks to the piers in the coming weeks.
There
will be six slips available for historic vessels and anyone interested
in learning about Seattle’s great maritime history will be welcome
aboard. Even more great history can be learned right next door at the
Naval Armory and the Center for Wooden Boats, which also offers
sailing lessons.
No great waterfront would be complete without vantage from which to
scout the maritime activity taking place. And plenty of view oriented
benches are soon to be ready so you won’t miss any of the action.
The wharf
is an integral part of new South Lake Union Park and will be the focal
point for Seattle's maritime heritage activities. Come on down for a
preview and mark June on the calendar for the opening ceremony.
We’ll see you there lassie!
